| Name: Nathan 'Mr Willy' Williams Location: South Australia BIO: Nathan is currently doing his second module of five of his Chartered Accountants course, so not as much time for fishing as he would like at the moment. Employed at an accounting firm in Murray Bridge, SA for the past 2 and a half years. His earliest fishing memories involve catching mullet and Juvenile Australian Salmon from The Mundoo Channel (Scab Creek they called it back then) on the Coorong, and pulling Redfin Perch from Hume Reserve in Murray Bridge on hand lines. He was heavily into squid fishing for a long time, and holidays from school and uni used to revolve around trips to his favourite haunts at Rapid Bay, Second Valley and Cape Jervis, all located in SA, chasing squid. In the Winter of 2004 after reading many posts on an SA fishing forum from a guy pulling 1 Murray Cod after another, Nathan and a mate finally talked him into spending a morning with them at the local shop teaching them the basics with a few secret hints and tips, his fishing changed forever. It took them 2 trips to nail a Golden Perch and around 6 months to get their first Murray Cod. From that day on they started to catch them with some consistency, and the Callop were becoming something we could rely on. He was hooked on lure fishing, and meeting Lucas Weaver a few years ago made the new addiction even worse. Most spare weekends now see Nathan & Lucas either floating along the Murray River in SA casting lures at Callop (due to the Murray Cod closure) or on the Coorong casting plastics at Bream and Mulloway. Angeling Specialty / Fav target species: Golden Perch & Murray Cod on lures in the Murray River is foremost, but chucking plastics in the Coorong is a very close second. Also does an annual SA Far West Coast trip targeting Mulloway which is something He really look forward to Favourite HOTROD / Rods: SwizzleStik 661MF paired with a Daiwa Exceler 2500 thread line reel...only because he hasent had the chance to use the NativeCasts as much as I would’ve like to, but that will change soon he says... Career Accomplishments / Competitions Fished: 3rd place in the 2008 Callop Classic at Cobdogla. 5th place in the 2008 Callop Classic Grand Final at Wentworth Founder of the Lower Murray Lure Fishing Club in South Australia |

Name: Stephen 'EMO' Emerson Location: Victoria BIO: EMO caught his first fish, a Bream, on Xmas day when he was 6 on the old fibreglass rod he was given as a xmas pressie. That was the start of his love of angling Discovering that Bream were suckers for Soft plastics around 5 years ago, his bait soaking days where over. That was the beginning of his artificial angling addiction. Now days his passion is catching bream on small crank baits. EMO Recently became involved in Tournament fishing Scene, Entering the Vic Bream Classics and is about to embark in his first ABT event as a NB on the Glenelg River, Victoria. We will watch his form and post the results ! Angeling Specialty / Fav target species: Stephens Favourite Target species is still the wily Bream and his preferred method is fishing tight into structure / banks using crank baits and twitch baits, although it can get a little expensive losing a few lures every session, you have to fish hard to get good results ! Favourite HOTROD / Rods: SwizzleStik ELITE 701ULF paired with a Daiwa Heartland 2000 Thread line reel Career Accomplishments / Competitions Fished: # 13th in his first Vic Bream Classic at the Glenelg river in 2008, # 14th in the BIA Yarra Vic Bream Classic 2009 # 20th in the Vic Bream Classic, Glenelg river 2009 # 15th in the Glenelg River ABT 2009 - Boater # 1st in the Docklands VIC BREAM CLASSIC 2010 |

Name: Lucas ’the weavs’ Weaver Location: South Australia BIO: Born and raised in Gawler SA, Lucas got the fishing bug serious when visiting his dad in Murray bridge on school holidays when he was twelve. Big Golden Perch on baits was the norm for “weavs” and at the same time he also started throwing lures around the town getting into mid range Goldens and Redfin. From here he spent the next few years chasing a broad range of species including snapper off the rocks, Redfin in the hills, Jewfish and bream in the Adelaide's Port River, salmon in the surf and that pest of a fish ....mud sucking carp… .. ( He Knows, but SOME one has to help weed them out !) Making a move to Murray Bridge, SA in 2004 he started solely chasing Murray Cod and Golden Perch on lures with his brother John ( RIP) and rekindled an old love with the river and all things that dwell within it. He has recently taken up the pen and Started writing feature articles for 'Wildcoast Fishing SA' in early 2008 and hasn’t looked back in his piscatorial quest for enlightenment. Angeling Specialty / Fav target species: All things river! Murray Cod , Goldens, Bream, School mulloway, Redfin, trout, Carp, If it lives in the Murray/ Darling Basin from salt to fresh then at some point he have chased it. Cod traditionally took up his winter time ( now of limits on SA due to a permanent closure) with Bream and Jewfish down south taking over his summer. Any spare time is spent on the water considering it is only 2 minutes to the closest boat ramp...yes he's an addict ! Favourite HOTROD / Rods: "My Swizzlstik D610ULMF has got to be on my lists of favourite rods. Built as a personal rod for Perrie himself it sounded too good when he told me about it I wanted it…a couple of months later when he come south for the SA bream classic I got it of him (and never gave it back !) It went on to help us secure 4th spot in that event. That thing also put the bricks on countless monster bream and school jew last summer with ease and never did it once look like it couldn’t handle itself. Casting plastics all day its fast whippy tip action aids in the cast acting like a slingshot delivering your offering to where ever you want it. The MF (medium fast) action also acts like a shock absorber when fishing locked drags around structure when theres no give in the line and the shock absorbing abilities are whats keeping your line from breaking and you connected no matter how bad a big blue nose Bream wants to get home. Also must pay mention to my 601HXF NativeCast, It was the second completed prototype off Perrie's rod lathe and first to get put into testing on lure crunching Goldens and big 1m+ Murray Cod. It can handle it self but can you handle it!" Name: Mark 'HAZY' Hayes Location: Victoria BIO: Hazy gained his love of fishing from his many camping trips to the Barmah Forrest on the Murray River in Victoria with his Dad when he was a young lad. Fishing for the mighty Murray Cod with locally caught bait such as 'Bardie' Grubs and Shrimp was all it took to get him in the hunt for his quarry and fuel this growing obsession His fishing horizons broadened to Trout and Redfin Perch and as such, so did his attraction to try lure fishing for these species. Once he discovered that Bream are suckers for the same lures that he caught Trout on, and the fact that he had a great Bream fishery on his doorstep...the next step was inevitable...Bream on Lures ! And the next stage of his angling obsession was born. Hazy loves catching Bream on hard body lures, his favourite time of year for catching them is the warmer months when the bream are active and more aggressive to such methods. Angeling Specialty / Fav target species: Bream, Bream and Bream ! Favourite HOTROD / Rods: SwizzleStik Range Career Accomplishments / Competitions Fished: # 13th in his first Vic Bream Classic at the Glenelg river in 2008, # 14th in the BIA Yarra Vic Bream Classic 2009 # 20th in the Vic Bream Classic, Glenelg river 2009 # 1st in the Docklands VIC BREAM CLASSIC 2010 |
